ROLE
Irina has served as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of ZINAPAH since 2021. She has been a member of the Board of Trustees of ZINAPAH since 2017 and was reappointed for a second term in 2021.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
POSITIONS
Irina is an experienced leader with more than 20 years of professional experience in the Armenian and international banking sectors. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning and execution, business development, asset and liability management, risk management, corporate restructuring, and engagement with boards of directors and regulatory authorities. She is passionate about developing, motivating, and inspiring people.
From 2020 to 2025, Irina served as Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bank Armenia, where she was responsible for all aspects of the Bank’s operations and resources, as well as for the implementation of the strategy set by the Board of Directors.
Irina has been with the HSBC Group since 1997, having worked both in Armenia and abroad. From 2016 to 2020, she headed the Global Markets division of HSBC Bank Malta, where she was responsible for the Bank’s global markets activities, including foreign exchange trading and sales, money markets and interest rates, balance sheet structure, cash flow management, asset and liability management, foreign exchange operations, interest rate risk, and other key risks within the Bank’s strategic framework, as well as liquidity and financial position management.
Prior to that, Irina led regulatory change management programs at HSBC Bank UK for three years, where she implemented a regulatory change management framework within Global Commercial Banking and oversaw the development and rollout of policies for large, cross-regional regulatory change programs across 60 countries.
Since January 2021, Irina has been a member of the Board of Orran Charitable NGO, an organization whose mission is to support vulnerable families—particularly children and the elderly—through academic, cultural, and extracurricular programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Irina is an internationally qualified accountant (ACCA, UK) and an ACCA Fellow. She graduated from the State Engineering University of Armenia with a degree in Automated Systems for Information Processing and Management.
