Irina is the chairman of our board of trustees.
Irina has been serving on the Board of Trustees of the Insurance Foundation of Servicemen since 2017 and has been reappointed in 2021 for a second term.
Irina is a highly motivated senior leader with over 20 years of experience in banking sector in Armenia and Internationally. Areas of expertise include Strategic Planning and Execution, Business Development, Asset & Liabilities Management, Risk Management, Organisational Restructuring, Board and Regulatory Engagement. Passionate about developing, motivating and inspiring people.
Since March 2020 Irina serves as the CEO of HSBC Bank Armenia, where she is in charge of all aspects of the Bank’s operations and resources, accountable for the execution of the strategy set by the Board of Directors.
Irina has been with HSBC group since 1997 in Armenia and globally. Between 2016-2020 she held the position of Head of Global Markets at HSBC Bank Malta, where she was in charge of Bank’s Global Markets business, including: trading and sales in Foreign Exchange, Money Markets and Rates; management of Bank’s Balance Sheet structure, cash flows, assets and liabilities, foreign exchange, interest rate and associated risks within Bank’s strategy; management of Bank’s liquidity and funding positions.
Prior to that Irina was the Head of Regulatory Risk Programmes at HSBC Bank UK for 3 years, where she set up governance around regulatory change within Global CMB, led policy formulation and implementation of major (cross-territorial) regulatory change programmes across 60 countries with Commercial Banking presence.
Since January 2021 Irina has joined the Board of Orran Benevolent NGO in Armenia, an organisation with a mission to help vulnerable families, especially children and the elderly through academic, cultural and other extracurricular activities.
Irina is a Chartered Certified Accountant (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK) and an ACCA Fellow. She obtained her degree in Automated Systems of Information Processing and Management from Armenian State Engineering University of Armenia.

Adam is a High Technology CEO, serial entrepreneur, and investor.
Since May 2019, Adam serves as CEO at Germany-based cynora GmbH, a company innovating advanced OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) materials (https://cynora.com). CYNORA is a leading pioneer of novel TADF (Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence)-based blue and green emitter solutions that aim to improve the power efficiency and color contrast of OLED displays. He is the founding board chairman and a lead investor of Paradromics (https://paradromics.com), a startup company developing next-generation neural interface technology.
Using this technology, Paradromics will dramatically increase the precision of treatments such as Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson’s disease and other neurological diseases, leading to better symptom relief with lower side effects. This technology will also provide the necessary data throughput for a new wave of brain-controlled prosthetics that can be used to help people with paralysis.
Prior, Adam was the Chairman and CEO of PlasmaSi. A technology startup company based in Fremont, CA. PlasmaSi enables the encapsulation of organic thin-films by depositing ultra-thin and flexible barrier films through its proprietary technology. These thin-films are particularly well suited for next-generation OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display products, including mobile phones, hand-held devices, tablets, wearables, and large screen HDTV.
In April of 2015, PlasmaSi was successfully acquired by AIXTRON SE (FSE: AIX; NASDAQ: AIXG), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of deposition systems for the semiconductor industry. Prior to his role at PlasmaSi, Adam was the Chief Executive Officer of Memoir Systems, a venture-backed memory IP company. Cisco successfully acquired memoir Systems in October 2014.
Adam co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of iCON Communications.
iCON Communications is a premier broadband Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Armenia utilizing state of the art WiMAX technology. He also served as the Chairman of the Board (until March 2008) and Chief Executive Officer (until March 2007) of Virage Logic.
He co-founded this company in 1996 and subsequently took it public on NASDAQ (VIRL.) in August 2000. Adam has numerous inventions and has 15 patents granted in the area of microchip design and memory. Moreover, he is the author and co-author of over 15 technical publications in leading trade journals.
Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from the University of California at Berkeley (1983), a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University (1992), and an Executive MBA from Stanford University (2006).
Joseph Simonian

Joseph is an experienced investment professional with expertise in investment strategy, quantitative research, multi asset portfolio management, data science and machine learning.
He is the founder and CIO of Autonomous Investment Technologies LLC, in Newton, MA, a company that provides AI and machine learning consulting services to the financial industry and builds custom quantitative models for financial firms.
In the last 13 years Joseph has held management positions in several multinational asset management companies, including Natixis Investment Managers, Fidelity Investment and JP Morgan Asset Management.
Joseph is a noted contributor to leading finance journals and is also a prominent speaker at investment events worldwide. He is currently the co-editor of the Journal of Financial Data Science, on the editorial board for The Journal of Portfolio Management, and advisory board member for the Financial Data Professional Institute. Joseph is the author of over 40 academic publications.
Joseph also has vast experience in teaching both in Academic circles (American University of Armenia, University of California) and for the industry (Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America).
He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara; an M.A. from Columbia University; as well as a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Anahit Adamyan

Anahit is a partner at EV Consulting management consultancy, and head of Moscow office of the company since 2015. She specializes in banking and financial institutions, education industries, where most of her work is focused on strategy, management practices and trainings.
Before her work at EV consulting Anahit worked as head of retail strategy at Alfa Bank, Moscow (2013-2014), Deputy head of strategy at Home Credit Bank, Moscow (2012-2013).
Before that Anahit worked at Monitor Group management consulting firm (2007-2011) and Ernst & Young, Transaction advisory team (2001-2007), both in Moscow, Russia.
Anahit is also on the board of Arm Marathon foundation, Yerevan (since 2015). Her main responsibilities include organization of foundation work, fundraising and strategy.
Anahit has obtained her MBA from Brandeis University in USA in 2000. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Yerevan State University (1997).
David Akopyan

David is an international development expert with over 30 years of professional experience. He is an innovative and strategic thinker, always able to find solutions under complex circumstances and multiple crises.
For the last 26 years David has held several positions with the United Nations Development Program including as Senior Adviser, Deputy Country Director, as well as Country Director and Resident Representative. His work with United Nations has taken him to 50 countries, in Europe, Central Asia, East Africa, Middle East, Caribbean and Latin America. During his assignments he has worked with government decision makers, civil society organizations and businesspeople on peace and state building, economic development and social change.
From 2017 to 2019, after years of devastating war, David was in charge of UNDP office at one of the most critical junctions in Syria, where he led early recovery efforts aiming for resilience and helping millions of people to survive and recover. David also guided his team in the special effort aimed at building foundation for SDGs in Syria.
He has spent a few years in New York at UN Headquarters as Chief of Operations of the UN Secretary General’s appointed High-Level Panel on post 2015 Development agenda- that led to the formulation of Sustainable Development Goals -Vision 2030.
David has worked in Somalia for 4 years, starting in September 2013, right after the devastating attack on UNDP compound and has managed to reestablish UNDP presence in Mogadishu. Several new programs were launched and qualified managers attracted to lead teams that supported the National Peace and State Building Goals. David, together with the Government has initiated the first National Development Plan centered around SDGs. He has also started an initiative on social and business innovation focused on youth that currently serves as a model for solutions in crises context.
A major accomplishment for David were the successful Parliamentary elections in Afghanistan in 2010 (a large scale highly complex internationally supported effort with 100 international staff and massive operation with a budget of $150 million). Elections were recognized by UN Security Council as one of the best election operations supported by the United Nations, and UNDP received special appreciation.
David was also decorated with most prestigious national medal “Dank” by the President of Kyrgyzstan for his work in the country.
Prior to the United Nations, between 1981-1991, David worked in R&D and published 40 articles in the field of laser physics. Part of his research was on modeling of complex systems, theory of chaos and self-organization in complex systems.
David holds an MBA from the American University in Armenia, a PHD in Laser Physics of Complex Systems and an MA in Theoretical Physics from Yerevan State University.
David will take on his role as Board member of the Insurance Foundation for Servicemen starting on April 1st, 2021.
Board of Trustees of ZINAPAH
The Board of Trustees of ZINAPAH (hereinafter referred to as the Board) is the highest governing body of the Foundation. It’s made up of seven members, who are appointed for a term of 5 years. Board members participate in the work of the Board on a voluntary basis.
A person who has at least five years of professional work experience in management and finance, and is respected in society, may be appointed a member of the Board.
Tips:
- Approves the budget of the Foundation, as well as the annual budget.
- Defines the procedure for paying compensation to the beneficiaries, appoints the members of the executive committee of the Foundation, the director of the Foundation
- Approves the commission, activities and liquidation procedures, and in the cases defined by the charter of the Foundation, forms other bodies of the Foundation, defines their power.
- Selects the external auditor, approves the publishing procedure of quarterly reports of the Foundation, its form, types of reports of the Foundation, etc.
